bon anniversaire

Nine wonderful years married.
How fast another year went by!

A layout I did recently of K and I {so rare for me to scrapbook something other than the kiddies} but so fitting on our anniversary...

And look at the sweet little gift my Mom stitched for us, for our anniversary...

She knows how much I love the Eiffel Tower {and it's also perfect because we went to France on our honeymoon shortly after we were married}.

We are doing something special for our anniversary.
I'll let you know what, in a later post.
But this other gift from my parents...

gives a pretty good clue.
So exciting. Oui?

ice cream box mini album

Check out this vintage treat...

Sorry... there's no more ice cream.
But what's inside is just as sweet...

And has none of the calories!

This was made with the Jenni Bowlin kit that I bought ages ago and took to Katie's crop last month to complete. And now I am just finally getting around to posting about!

a page for kelly

Since scrapbooking is what Kelly and I did together, I made this page for her album...

{photos from a camping trip our families took together last summer}

to give to her at her when we said good-bye. We also made her a batch of these...

Red Velvet Cupcakes with cream cheese icing

and some of K's {secret recipe} Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies.

K and the kiddies made the cuppy-cakes and then I did the icing. We took the recipe from this fabulous blogger who makes the cutest cupcakes ever. The kiddies were in charge of glittering and sprinkling with hearts.

Now I just need to scrapbook these photos...

into a layout for Kelly too. My kiddies love her Baby Boy so much and we will miss seeing him!

good-bye

This past weekend the one and one + two of us said good-bye to Kelly and her family. Kelly was one of the first friends that I made in our new city {we met at a crop, my first week here}, and is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. We had scrapbooking and our young kids in common, and started getting together for play dates and to scrapbook.

So saying good-bye was sad. But Kelly made it fun too. She hosted a Pinata Party at her home, because that is what her son Q wanted before he moved! Last week 'the girls' got together to make the pinatas {and drink sangria - because if you are going to get into the papier-mache you need to have some drinks too}!

Part 1, Pinata-Making Party...

{Kelly & Jen}

And then this past weekend {when the glue had dried, and the balloons were stuffed} Kelly hosted Part 2 of the Pinata Party. The Pinata-Smashing Party...

I will miss Scrapbook Mondays and you and your sweet children, Kelly...

Come back here for a scrapbooking weekend soon!
Best of luck in your new city.

dancing queen

You are the dancing queen
Young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing queen, feel the beat
From the tambourine, oh yeah
You can dance, you can jive
Having the time of your life...
Ooh, see that girl, watch that scene
Dig in the dancing queen...
.....

Miss S is having the time of her life in the most adorable tutu that I bought for her, from Trinity's Tutus. Miss S loves the pink and brown Strawberry Chocolate Cupcake tutu...
and the matching "S" top that I ordered from isabellaboo...

Dig in the dancing queen!

summer reading

I am currently reading this...

and wondering if the movie will be as good as the book.
I recently saw My Sister's Keeper

with Monique and Renee, and did not like the film as much as the book. The fact that the ending was dramatically changed from Jodi Picoult's book, was disappointing, since the book was awesome.

I am also currently reading anything I can get my hands on by Harlan Coben...

In the past couple weeks I have read Hold Tight, The Woods and No Second Chance. I can just fly through his books because they are so good, and so suspenseful I don't want to put them down.

Also I have been flipping through this...

and trying to decide which cupcakes the kiddies and I should make first! {Does a cook book count as reading?}

I just love, love, love to get caught up in a good book. I love finding a book that is so good you just don't want it to end. And so now my summer reading dilema is this...what books should I take with me on my upcoming trip?
