the help

I just finished reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett and just loved it. I would recommend it to every woman I know, definitely a 'must read'. There are some books that I enjoy so much I don't want them to end, but yet I read them quickly because I don't want to put them down...and that was the case with The Help.

Check out the synopsis and Kathryn Stockett's website, and if you haven't already read it, go get yourself a copy now!

pages

Some quick & simple pages, put together this morning...

It has been a while since I've done any scrapbooking, and I find a quick & simple page is often just what I need to get me kick-started again!

sledding

One of the kids' favorite things about our yard is...

the big slope in between our home and our neighbor, that all the kids sled down in the winter!

This year there were more obstacles to get around, as we put up a fence in the summer, but those crafty kids just figured out a way to make a 'track' in the snow that took them away from the fence and towards our neighbors' skating rink...

fall photo shoot

While waiting for Christine and her boys to meet us at Jack Pine Trail this past weekend, I took the opportunity to have an impromptu 'photo shoot'. The scenery was beautiful, the weather was great, I {of course} had my camera with me. The hard part, was convincing the subject of my photo to cooperate. To simply smile...
or even just look at the camera. I think Miss S is over to the right here, putting on a little show to encourage a laugh. She likes to help like that...

Seriously, it's like pulling teeth...

And then of course, having two subjects in my photo just doubles my trouble. I'm over HERE Miss S...

Alright, enough already. This is as good a photo I'm going to get, I guess...

Can't you just hear them saying "Are we done yet?"

apple day, part II

After we finished picking our apples this past Sunday, we wanted to stay outside and enjoy the gorgeous fall weather we were having. So before we went back to her house to meet the others and make our pies, we joined Christine & her boys for a short hike. Christine stopped to pick up some bird seed to feed the chickadees, and we met up on the Jack Pine Trail in the Greenbelt.

Feeding the birds and spending the day outside, is something the kiddies just love to do, any time of the year. We are very lucky to have so much beautiful green space in our city.

abc's and 123's

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
