Miss S's first Christmas

I was just checking out Katie's blog, and it brought back memories of Miss S's first Christmas. It is because of this dress...
that Miss S wore...
Katie's daughter has the same dress for her first Christmas.

I love this dress {still have it hanging on a hook in Miss S's room}.

And it must taste good...

because Katie's daughter and Miss S both seemed to love chewing on theirs!

I cannot believe how big Miss S seems after looking at these 'old' photos! So many wonderful Christmas memories {thanks for reminding me Katie}!

mirror, mirror, on the...minibook

I am uploading new photos as I watch the snow come down, and down, and down. We may be snowed in here, soon!

Last week Renee, Mellisa and I took a class taught by our friend Stephanie, at the Scrapbox. The four of us got a chance to create and chat, so it was a great night. We also started planning for the Donna Downey event we are all going to, and some swaps to do together in the new year, for the event. We are going to try our own 'fabric fat book' inspired by the one Renee and I saw at Silver Bella {it was hosted by Michelle Geller, check out just how fabulous it was, here}.
Here is the mirror book I made in class, full of photos from R's first Christmas...
As usual, Stephanie designed a gorgeous book, with so many charming details. On one of the ribbons we hung charms that we made using Tim Holtz 'Fragments'. So easy to attach paper to the clear charms with crystal laquer - and so cute! There's a Heidi Swapp Chandelier Crystal on another ribbon...
Love the mix of Heidi Swapp and Making Memories papers and embellishments...

I love, love, love Heidi Swapp clocks...

and the Making Memories journaling cards...

The flocked damask paper that we put on the back cover is fabulous...

Check out the reflection of my vintage Christmas ornaments in the mirror cover of the book...

And just because it was in the background, here is a photo of my new favorite tree. It is a Bethany Lowe 'Vintage Inspired Silver Tree' that my mom sent me this year!

It's still snowing...

say cheese!

When I sent out my Christmas cards, I included R's school photo for the grandparents, aunts, and uncles, but we hadn't got Miss S's photos back yet. So I just had to post these...
from "pee-school"! We also received a class photo, and Miss S pointed out all her friends to me {the photo is so funny - none of the children are looking at the camera and a couple are crying...}

o christmas tree

Last week, my little handy-man helper and I put up our second tree.

{Miss S was watching the Dora Christmas movie - she has discovered Dora, and since she gave up napping at the ripe old age of 2!!!, I don't mind if she has a little 'quiet time' with Dora every now and then}!

It is a tiny little tree that my Dad bought for me when I was in University. I already had a small collection of ornaments and no where to put them, so one day he gave me this little tree.

R loves building things and fixing things, so I put him to work sorting the color-coded branches and assembling the tree {yes, it is that type of old-school artificial tree!}...

He loved that he can reach the top of this one...

We had the mandatory sugar-break required for all my child laborers...

And, voila...

{This is the new little tree skirt I bought in Omaha - Renee thought it was a quilted cape for Miss S! It does have the cutest little buttons on it...maybe Miss S can wear it after the holidays}...

One or two of these photos will be making their way into my December Daily album, soon {however I realized today that I haven't ever even unpacked my photo paper - so printing a photo a day is not going to work out so well for me. My album will be finished after December, I guess, when I can order all my photos at once online!}

is it just me...

or does Miss Poupette Lulu look like Miss S...? Hmmm...

just wanted to post...

something...anything, but haven't uploaded photos from the last few days yet. So here are some old layouts...
{Won't it be exciting when I actually have new layouts to post? That day is coming soon...I am waiting patiently to get settled in our new house and my new scraproom...}

Did not notice the error in my grammar on this one {a layout about R getting his "peeing boy baby" from Santa last year...

Oops - that is what happens when I scrapbook late at night!
